This prayer by Greta Coe helped me know how to pray for the Christians undergoing such tribulation in Iraq. I hope it ministers to you too.

Church leaders Iraq have as the church to join them today, Sunday, August 10th, as a day of prayer. If you are not sure what to pray, you may pray the following prayer:
Lord, we are gathered here today in the mighty and powerful name of Your Son,Yeshua.
Today, we pray for encounter and salvation for these people. We pray for those upon the mountain to find Jesus, the Living Water and the Bread of Life. We pray for those besieged by terror in the towns to come under your glorious shield.
God, to the people who are coming under the sword today, Lord, let the peace of Your Spirit that transcends all understanding guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. We pray Father, that they would enter into heaven and be welcomed by the glory you reserve specifically for those who have paid the ultimate price.
Lord we pray that greater awareness would happen in the church. We are Your heavenly light in the world. As we open to your will, we pray you would move us on behalf of one another. Through prayer and action, we pray that the world may see YOU through our love for one another.
We pray for those who have fled to find a place to stay and provision.
Father, we pray that you would cause the men to rise up in courage and unity, to help protect their families and forge for provision, rather than being forced to cower or sell family members.
For the children, Jesus, we pray that you would draw near to them this very moment and let them know they are not alone. Lord, we pray that You would provide sustenance to their soul; let the countenance of your face keep their spirits in peace.
For those young girls and women, who are being brutalized and ravaged by these men, Father God, their culture says they are now worthless without their innocence. But we pray that You would open up hearts and minds in their midst to embrace and not reject these women.
Father, we pray that you would interfere. Let this tragedy be brought to an end immediately by moving countries to interfere.
Above all, Father, we pray for your Kingdom to come and Your will to be done. I
